In the first place, this 2nd English Edition is not spiral bound and may not be too convenient to some. OK to me though as a casual user.Yes I find this book full of info that sometimes seems uncoordinated, but further reading has proved I was wrong. My main reason for buying this book is to get the nitty gritty on Gold and Silver Points. At first to my dismay I noted that only the Functional Points chapter entries contain text referring to Gold and Silver Points, but later I found that in fact almost every illustration ever put down in the book contains this invaluable info as predicated on the Explanation of Symbols right BEFORE the Introduction. What a treasure trove is now open to me! This might well be the only work of its kind in print. I would give 10 stars for this alone! There are exceptions of course in which this info is missing, especially where a relatively large tranche of the ear topography is involved.Some of the effects of treatment I have tried are almost instantaneous. For instance, I was able to relieve my Sjögren's syndrome with the Facial Nerve Point (using Pointoselect Digital DT, and also Nd magnets), and my palpitations with the Cardiac Plexus Point. (Could also be due to a healthy dosage of Mg and more diligent qigong exercises.) Will certainly explore and experiment with other Points of interest to me.This book is grouped into chapters a la but not identical to, the style of the Nogier Frequencies, as seen in the preview pages on this web site with minor differences in the printed version. This is followed by an Appendix of a glossary of Ear Topography, and ending with an index on Projection Zones, Points, and Meridians on the Ear, and yet another index on the Indications. Which could be confusing for first time/cursory readers. Adding sub-chapter headings right on top of the right-hand pages might not add clarity and easy access at first glance but actually helps to locate materials once you are getting used to it. There are copious cross references throughout the text (with exact page nos.) to make it less of a hard nut to crack. Yes, you still have to overcome the clinical and anatomical terms densely mottled throughout the book. This is a book that grows with your grasp of the techniques of auricular acupuncture in all respects.This publication is called an atlas, but does much more than that. And it has to be approached as such randomly rather than sequentially. Although you still can follow the broad chapter grouping as explained above. And every time I delve into its pages, I find new inspirations to apply to my own DIY needleless ear "acupuncture" techniques and to complement my understanding of the Chinese school as manifested by Dr Li-Chun Huang (available on YouTube) and Ping Chen's Modern Chinese Ear Acupuncture, inter alia. Needless to say, this is a must-have companion to the Pointoselect Digital DT and similar machines, although with the latter, locating Gold and Silver Points can be automatic.There are other modalities individually or in concert to obtain almost any desired healing effect, not excluding conventional medicine, especially in emergencies. The above are from my own experience as a lay person and your mileage may differ. Usual disclaimers apply. And don't do too much "analysis into paralysis", which I admittedly often do--grab a copy (if you are lucky) before it is gone. (Not related to Amazon.)

This pocket atlas is well organized and I have found it very useful. It has an entirely different style than my two favorities:( Microsystems Acupuncture: The Complete Guide: Ear - Scalp - Mouth - Hand and Auriculotherapy Manual: Chinese and Western Systems of Ear Acupuncture ), but it offers intriguing additional techniques once one is ready to delve more deeply into auricular therapy as its own subdiscipline within the greater domain of acupuncture.It would not have worked well for me as an introductory resource. Once I've had a growing sense of the landscape for auricular therapy in general, then I find there is some additional detail that has been unavailable or more obscure in my other sources. What stood out for me were the uncluttered drawings focusing on just a few inter-related points at a time, the greater detail about Nogier's later ideas, and the specifics of using gold versus silver needles.Well worth the investment. It's size fills a very practical nitch. The most common books in this field are too big to carry around easily.

Tons of great information for a pocket atlas. However, I will also need some of the original works that this atlas was created from in order to make best use of it. From what I understand, if you are looking to get into extrmeley effective auricular acupuncture the works of both Nogier and Strittmatter are some of the most scientific, progressive, and experiential information to date. I've had some excellent results and I'm just novice, at the tip of the iceberg with understanding and applying the material.

The most current handbook with every region including Alola. Lots of great information on all Pokémon, but if you’re looking to know how to evolve certain Pokemon and at what levels Pokémon learn moves, this isn’t the right book.

The book is everything it says it is. I get to look over all of the Pokémon in a colorful & organized way! Yes it is a little dumb that it's not in order by their number, but it's not hard to find any Pokémon in this book. The book provides an evolution underneath every Pokémon so you can look them up yourself. This book is in alphabetical order, so unless you can't read out the alphabet, you should have no trouble finding any Pokémon. This book is definitely worth the purchase if you enjoy looking into what Pokémon capable of doing and what they look like.

My 6 year old Pokemon partner got me into the game but reading the book as we collect brings it to another level. If you are serious about learning, collecting and playing Pokemon Trading Card Game, this is a great book, up to date book. Super Deluxe replaced the deluxe as of July 2018. I have both.This book is an almanac of facts about Pokemon as represented on the Pokemon trading cards. Its is not about video games or other Pokemon related gear. This is a comprehensive guide to all the characters. It starts with a few pages on the different categories=s and types of Pokemon and then each of the 800 characters has a 1/2 to full page on their description in detail including height and weight, phonetic pronunciation of their names, and their possible movement and evolution into advanced staged characters.On the 800 descriptions, you enter a world of these amazing characters, some gentle and other evil and many man hour to create this incredible alternate universe if you will. You will learn about the much desired and powerful Legendary and Mythical Pokemon and their strengths and weakness, what energizes them and their trainer assist cards as you, the reader are the actual Pokemon trainer. Get descriptions and info-did you know that cute little Pikachu is a mouse Pokemon of the electric type from All and other regions and I am paraphrasing a quote from the book s(he) "naturally stores electricity it's body and needs to discharge it regularly to maintain good health"*You can take it as deep as you want to go.And you thought Pokemon was a kids only game. Lot's of strategy in this make believe word to get you ready to play, trade or perhaps enter a tournament.I have looked a few different books on this subject at a hobby shop in my local mall and this one is very well formatted and easy to use no matter what level you may be at and if you know how to read. Literally a 6 year old has spent hours with it. Me too!

My grand daughter got me hooked. This is a perfect book it's pictures show you what Pokemon are what and what they evolve into other important imformation. Doesn't show Shiny's or Alolans

800 pages of Pokémon with vivid pictures and lots of info. We bought this for my daughter for Christmas who plays Pokémon on her iPad and let’s go Eevee on the switch and she has not put it down. I did write in how to evolve each Pokémon and what attacks are good against each type of Pokémon for her and it would’ve been nice to have that already in there but still a great buy. It does give info about each Pokémon, what type they are, what they evolve into, what poke regions each Pokémon is in. It doesn’t tell you which route to catch them obviously because it was designed to be used for multiple Pokémon games so that would vary. It does include all mythical, legendary, and Alolan versions of the Pokémon.

My son became obsessed with all things Pokemon late last year. He quickly built up a collection of 600+ Pokemon cards. One of the kids I was in a play with backin December had this book, so I knew I needed to get it for my son. Finally ordered it a week or so ago and my son is THRILLED with it. It's a great way for him to learn about the Pokemon characters he's collected - especially since we just joined a local Pokemon club where they learn how to play the trading card game. Vanderhoof's book caught me at just the right time. I had been glued to books on the Middle East, ancient and current conflicts, and after another forbidding book, I put that down and opened An Embarrassment of Mangoes. Well done Ann! Thank you for taking me aboard with you. It was my pleasure being a silent observer.My wish is for everyone that needs a break, that they pick up his book and sit back with a drink in one hand and the book in the other.I've only ever given five-stars to any other author, twice. Ann, this is well deserved for the smile I've had on my face since the first chapter. It was only eclipsed by the tear in my eye at the ending.Keep sailing!

Having only visited a few of the many places Ann and her husband Steve visited on the East Coast of the US and throughout the Caribbean, and having never sailed in my life but spent a lot of time in small metal boats and dingys, I was surprised how at home I felt in these pages of her memoir. How I yearned to try the recipes at the end of each chapter. How I longed to take my new husband (I started reading this book on the last day of our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic), hop on a sailboat, and turn ourselves south toward the mangos and turquoise waters and wide smiles and "jus' now" time. Although Ann took her journey when I was still a child, I have been profoundly moved by her courage and devotion to learned and enjoying these two years of her life. If I'm ever able to take such a recess, I pray I'll be generous and meticulous and enthusiastic and brave as Ann. In the meantime, I'll be happy to return to An Embarrassment of Mangoes and all its riches.

The first off review is correct in describing the book. I have read several accounts of various individuals sailing the oceans for the first time, most in the Caribbean. Two things jump out about this story. First, reading other accounts, one is struck by the incredible number of mechanical mis haps and lack of preparation for them, such as not having the right spare impeller for he water pump. Their two year trip seems to have avoided such mis haps, kudos for Steve's mechanical preparation. Second, she mentions that many couples give this sort of trip up discovering too much confinement in a small space. Yet as another review notes, Steve is a sort of background crew figure with little said about their relations ship. Lots of recipes and inter action with the natives of the islands.

Ahhhhh. I just returned from a lifelong dream experience of sailing to the Caribbean. Well, not really, but I did live vicariously through Ann and Steve as I read of their adventures doing what I have never had the opportunity to accomplish. This is a wonderful retelling of their 2 year, round trip cruise from Toronto and through the islands. I was with them every minute to enjoy the trip and I thank the author, Ann, for that experience.

I am enjoying this book as a sailor who appreciates the adventures and realistic accounts of life on a cruising sailboat. What I find most bothersome is the lack of pictures. The story is of the sailing adventure of an editor and her photographer husband as they travel to the Bahamas and Caribbean. As I read the stories, I keep thinking how much better the book would be with photos.The recipes of local food favorites are a nice touch and provide a unique spin to the typical sailing adventure book.

This was a great book. The author really makes you feel like you are traveling with her in the Caribbean. Her adventures with her husband are more than I would be able to do but to read them made me feel like at times I was right along with them (though I could never drink the amount of alcoholic beverages they did!). It was a grand adventure they were looking for and it was what they got, and more. They were so personable which is why, I believe, their adventure was so very fruitful. I commend them for what they embarked on, what they did and how the author was able to share it with the rest of us.

There are sailing books about sailing and then there are sailing books about people and places. This is a sailing book about people, places and cooking – lots of cooking.If you love food and travel, you will enjoy the heck out of this story for that alone, even if you couldn't give two hoots about boats. And if you love food, travel, rum, and the freedom of the open sea, you will love An Embarrassment of Mangoes.Unlike sailing books that spin terrifying tales of storms and fatigue and jagged rocks and freezing cold and staying just one half-step ahead of death and calamity, this one weaves a pleasant and engaging story about a couple who take some time off from their careers to cruise the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean. Ann and Steve are (mostly) regular, normal folks doing something a lot of people dream about. They aren't trying to break world records or challenge King Neptune, they just wanted to get away for a little while, and do it on their own terms. Did I mention that there is cooking?An Embarrassment of Mangoes follows their experiences as they sail from Toronto to Trinidad (just off the coast of Venezuela) and back again on board their 42-foot Tartan sloop, Receta (Spanish for "recipe," many of which you will find interspersed with the text) and their dinghy, Snack. Ann begins the story admittedly unsure of the whole deal, but soon finds herself an enthusiastic convert to the life of an oceanic vagabond.Many sailing stories are written by people who are sailors first, and also just happen to be functionally capable of assembling sentences in a way that normally doesn't violate the most important rules of grammar, usage and style too egregiously. Ann Vanderhoof is an entirely different kind of sailing author: she was a magazine editor before she ever embarked on this trip. Where was the enthusiasm in the Federal government to stimulate this paradigm shift in automobile propulsion technology?What happened to America in the 70's that caused defeat of the development of the turbine car to be snatched from the jaws of victory? The Federal congress, the regulatory agencies, and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries were just a few of the factors that turned this dream into a debacle. The author of this book, Steve Lehto, did an excellent job of chronicling this part of American automotive history. His style of writing and organization of the subject matter makes this book totally enjoyable reading.

This book needed to be written - I am very glad that Steve has finished it and that he did such a great job on writing it.Steve Lehto is a master of making history into a readable and interesting dialog with the reader. I knew most of the story from my own research and acquaintance with many of the contributors before Steve started. So when I say I found the book extremely well written and able to capture and hold my attention, which means it is just plain good! Bravo Steve for giving the world a record in print of not only the unique cars but the people who created then and had the chance to drive them.After I received my copy I found it very hard to put down. I knew how it ended and as I already knew most of the story from my own research but the chronological and quickly moving manner Mr. Lehto put the whole book together made it an absolute joy to read and remember.If you count yourself a "gear head" of any age and love to read a lot of "inside" information about technology and vehicles in particular, you must read this book! If you enjoy stories about people who were dedicated engineers, visionary designers and creative dreamers, you need to read this book!History can be boring and dry or it can come alive, Steve has brought life back to a story that should have been told so our children and grandchildren can know that the 60's were not only about peace protests, the Viet Nam war, assassinations and bad corporations. Mr. Lehto shows that innovation and concern for the future was a common theme running through the people who wanted to see the piston engine replaced by an exciting and wonderful engine - the turbine.I am the son of one of the 203 users and drove one of the Chrysler/Ghia turbine cars in 1965.

Steve Lehto's book on the Chrysler Turbine brought back memories of my teen years. I turned 16 in 1964, so this story took place when I was really car crazy. Steve Lehto captures the intensity of the dreams of that era. I recall the trips to the store to by the latest car magazines, Road & Track, Car and Driver, Motor Trend. It was all good. The Chrysler Turbine's looks were Elwood Engel's idea (formerly a Ford designer whose great legacy included the 61 Lincoln Continental and the 4 seat Thunderbird. I never got to see the Chrysler Turbine in person.Lehto's account of the Chyrsler Turbine captures how the dreams of the early 1960's in so many other ways had turned to crap by 1966. Most of the downfall came as a result of corporate financial and government political bungling. Lehto captures in a snapshot what happened. There is plenty of irony here: Chrysler in the 1960's was a company run by accountants that nonetheless was going broke. The government bureaucrats who were supposedly trying to undo the environmental damage cause by the automobile kept changing the rules such that the engineers trying to fix the problems were running around in circles.The pictures of the car are dazzling. The Chrysler Turbine looks so much better than the cars of today. Steve Lehto's book Chrysler's Turbine Car is a trip back to the future.

Chapter three has advanced settings and I learned to use my devices as a pro, also chapter six is good because it's about Alexa that I love using and trying new things with, like Adding skills List of sample skills Agile Assistant Air Quality Air Traffic Control and many more things that I can do with Alexa, as compared to other guides I prefer this one.

The book just isn’t that good for the price you pay. This is not helpful for a smallish, big print; wide line space filling book. I expected much more and got way less in my opinion. This book doesn’t cut it. I think the author should be ashamed of himself. Of course, I’m ashamed for being taken which is my own fault. The book is going back. Buyer beware. Look at the sample pages before you buy. Also look at the physical size too.
